Christmas Cards

For many years I found

Christmas cards a lovely communication,

but now when I think of writing them out,

they only bring me frustration.

Who will send me cards this year?

Friends and family I see and chat with everyday?

Or only those who receive them from me…

I think it is time for re-evaluation.

I love to get the updated letters and photos

as the children grow and change.

The cards that only come with a signature

feel like they’ve been sent from obligation.

This year I will send them out

to people who I do not see often,

those who are not on social media –

long distance friends and relations.

So only send me cards this year

if you truly wish me heartfelt blessings.

And know that for you my friends and family

I wish you lovely blessings with affection,

adoration, admiration and celebration.
